PURPOSE STATEMENT: The Worship Arts Director is called to inspire and lead the congregation in passionate worship, fostering an environment where people can deeply connect with Jesus. This role involves organizing and leading worship services on Sunday mornings, guiding the worship team, and integrating technical elements to enhance the worship experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Worship Leadership:
- Plan, organize, and lead engaging worship services on Sunday mornings.
- Select and arrange music that aligns with the church’s mission and values.
- Lead rehearsals for the worship team, ensuring musical excellence and spiritual growth.
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to create cohesive worship experiences that support the sermon series and church events.
Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor musicians, vocalists, and other worship team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative environment within the worship and tech teams.
- Provide spiritual leadership and discipleship to team members, encouraging their personal and spiritual development.
Technical Oversight:
- Oversee the church’s audio, visual, and lighting systems to ensure high-quality production.
- Work with the tech team to manage and maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and implement upgrades as needed.
- Coordinate with volunteers and staff to ensure smooth execution of all technical aspects during services and events.
Creative Direction:
- Develop and implement creative elements (e.g., visual arts, multimedia) to enhance worship services and special events.
- Stay informed about current trends in worship and technology to continually improve the worship experience.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Manage the worship and tech team schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all services and events.
- Oversee the budget for worship and tech ministries, making informed decisions about resource allocation.
- Maintain an organized library of music, charts, and media resources.
Congregation Engagement:
- Encourage congregational participation in worship through various means (e.g., introducing new songs, engaging the congregation in worship).
- Participate in church-wide activities and events, fostering a sense of community and shared mission.
- Build relationships with congregation members, providing pastoral care as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Personal Characteristics:
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ, with a passion for worship and a heart for ministry.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Creative and innovative thinker, with a willingness to explore new ideas and approaches in worship.
- A well-developed personal theology of core Christian doctrines (Trinity, Christ, Creation, the Scriptures, and Salvation) to discern and ensure sound lyrical content.
Experience:
- Proven experience in leading worship services, preferably in a church setting.
- Experience in recruiting, training, and mentoring worship team members.
- Strong musical proficiency in at least one instrument (e.g., guitar, keyboard) and/or vocal performance.
- Ability to arrange and direct music for a variety of musical styles and settings.
- Proficiency with worship-related software and tools such as ProPresenter, Planning Center Services, and other audio-visual tools.
- Knowledge of audio, visual, and lighting systems used in worship settings.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and congregation members.
Educational Background:
- A bachelor’s degree from a Bible college or equivalent is encouraged.
- Formal training in spiritual formation and worship leadership.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS AND BENEFITS:
- Regular Full Time; exempt.
- Four days per week within the regular office hours, Monday–Thursday (9am - 5pm) and Sundays for Worship Services.**
